mid-sweet talk

Where are we? What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall,
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.
Spin me round again and rub my eyes.
This can't be happening.
When busy streets a mess with people
would stop to hold their heads heavy.

Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines.
All those years they were here first.

Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before.
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this
still life.

Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines.
(Oh, you won't catch me around here)
Blood and tears,
They were here first.

Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it's all for the best? Ah off course it is.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it’s just what we need? And you decided this.
Mmm what you say?
What did she say?

Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling, no I dont believe you.
You don't care a bit. You don't care a bit.

Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling, no I don't believe you.
You don't care a bit. You don't care a bit.

You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.

- Imogen Heap, Hide and Seek.

that is the most incredible song... it's so simple, but i found it so so moving the first time i heard it. being from The OC i felt a little guilty that i liked it, heh. but it's so beautiful.

good choice holmes.

I love it. Didn't know it was ever on the OC.

Don't want to be pernickety... but isn't it "bittersweet words"? I may well be wrong, because i downloaded the track off iTunes so I don't have the cover... and it's kind of hard to make out on the song too.

bittersweet words? in the lyrics?

personally i think the OC can shove it. although i'm so glad that they've made this song famous. i heard it in woolworths in guilford and my soul sang a little bit:)

I don't know the song! I want to know the song! Huh. Must be the first time ever that I wish I watched american trash like the OC!

You people don't know what you're missing; the OC is fantastic! (and yes, I say that with a sense of irony...)
